- Biography: Teri Gibson is an employee benefit consultant, strategist and collaborator with 35 years of experience. At TrueNorth, she is sought after to mentor new producers, as well as network, connect, and build lasting relationships. Teri has been recognized as a top--performing producer in TrueNorth’s Captain's Club.
Teri is dedicated to her community, as evidenced by her devoted service to an array of causes throughout Eastern Iowa: Teri is board chair of Trees Forever and Releaf, a City of Cedar Rapids initiative to restore the tree canopy in the wake of the 2020 derecho. She also serves on the alumni council and board of trustees for Kirkwood Community College, where she was selected to give the inaugural address for the college’s first female president. Teri is a past chair of Waypoint Services and a current member of their board of trustees. Teri also plays a leadership role in United Way of East Central Iowa, serving on the Women United committee and chairing, “Power of the Purse,” an annual fundraising event for under and uninsured women in the community. Today, Teri serves UWECI as vice president of their board of directors and is slated to become board chair in 2023. She also co-chairs the UWECI cabinet, overseeing their annual campaign efforts. Teri is a past co-chair of the Go Red for Women annual luncheon. She serves on the board of directors for The ARC of East Central Iowa and Corridor Women Connect, where she is also a member of their advisory board.
- Education: Teri attended both Kirkwood Community College and Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- Responsibilities: Over the years, Teri has earned her clients’ confidence and trust by delivering on long-term strategic plans and advice. Teri and her team craft business solutions that leverage communication and education, loss control, risk financing, technology and advocacy for both her clients and their employees. Additionally, Teri strives to ensure that the employers she advises remain compliant and aware of any current or future risks they may face.
- Specialty: Teri is accredited by the Health Insurance Association and has earned certification in self-insurance and the Affordable Care Act. Teri is also a charter member of United Benefit Advisors, an alliance of the nation's premier employee benefits advisory firms.
