Work Injury Insurance through TrueNorth

Most logistic providers require that the Contract Carriers with which they contract procure Occupational Accident (Occ/Acc) and/or Workers' Compensation insurance. TrueNorth has designed a few options to provide you with flexibility in protecting your business, while also meeting this requirement. Coverages include protection for drivers, helpers and business owners.

The Business Package Insurance Protection includes the following coverages:

Auto Liability Insurance | Provides protection against legal liability arising out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of any insured automobile. 

Physical Damage Insurance | Comprehensive Collision provides protection against loss or damage to a covered auto resulting from a collision or other certain causes of loss.

General Liability Insurance | Provides protection needed to pay for bodily injury or property damages for which you are legally responsible. Such as, but not limited to, installation of appliances and furniture assembly.  

Cargo Legal Liability Insurance | Provides property coverage for direct physical loss or damage to property of others in your care, custody, and control, for which you are legally liable.  

Umbrella Liability Insurance | Provides excess liability coverage over your Auto Liability and General Liability policies.

Equipment Maintenance File Management

When it comes to equipment maintenance files, don’t waste time with tedious paperwork. Our solution costs a fraction of what you might pay for other services and has worked for drivers all across the country. Rest easy knowing all receipts, miles and cost-per-year for each vehicle are available online and organized in one place.

The Preventive Maintenance (PM) program includes a weekly email noting what vehicles are due for their PMs and annual inspections.

The DVIR File program offers access to DVIR files and the space to upload and manage DVIRS.  The program will automatically house DVIR files for 90 days.  

Roadside Inspection Files are accessible, too!  Access and upload roadside inspections and the program will house them for up to three years.

• Am I eligible?

  General eligibility criteria for business package coverages: 

  • New ventures must meet the following criteria:
    • 1 truck, owner drives: owner needs 3 years relevant work history.
    • 2+ trucks: owner needs 3 years relevant work history. Drivers need 3 years of driving experience (passenger vehicles qualify.)
  • Drivers must meet the insurer's criteria for moving violations and accidents.
  • If you had commercial insurance within the past five years, loss runs are required.
• What are my payment options?

  As opposed to requiring a large down payment, business package premiums are billed in 12 equal monthly installments. The first month's payment is due at binding. Multiple payment options are accepted. 

  What is the process to qualify? 

  Simply complete an online application below or call our Navigator team by phone at (844) 413- 3631, option #1. Our team of navigators can answer questions and help pre-qualify you. All quotes and indications will be subject to final underwriting approval.

• How much does insurance cost?
  • Business Package coverages are all individually written. Prices vary based on these key factors (among others):
    • Owner's years of experience
    • Vehicle value and garaging zip code
    • Safety practices and loss history
  • Workers Compensation is individually-rated based on payroll and location. 
  • Occupational Accident plans are set monthly rates per unit of coverage. 
    • 'Non-driving owner' coverage is available!
• How long does it take to get insurance?

  While our Navigators will work to pre-qualify you immediately, underwriting approval of quotes can take 2-4 business days. Once down payment is received, certificates and auto IDs are available within the next full business day.

• Can coverages be purchased separately?
  • Occupational Accident is available separate of other coverages. 
  • Business Coverages are only available in a package. 
  • Workers' Compensation is only available with the Business package.
