TrueNorth Named 2020 Best of the Corridor

In the Corridor Business Journal's "Best of the Corridor" issue, TrueNorth President and CEO, Jason Smith attributes TrueNorth’s “specialness” to the way the company brings solutions, expertise and external resources to the table. The COVID-19 pandemic has left our firm busier than ever; in the past several months, we’ve added 15 employees to our staff and continue to help businesses and individuals cope with the complexity of the crisis.

This year, TrueNorth has been named “Best in the Corridor” in two categories:
Coolest Places to Work
The Corridor Business Journal recognized TrueNorth as one of the top three coolest places to work within its distribution area (large category). “Coolest Places to Work” identifies and honors local companies that have created the most engaging and rewarding work environments. Self-nominated companies in the Kirkwood’s seven-county region are selected based on a worker satisfaction survey.
Traditionally, participation is only within our Cedar Rapids location, but in spirit of One TrueNorth, we wanted it to represent the entire firm. Nearly 70% of colleagues across the firm participated!
At TrueNorth, we are building deeper connections within and across teams, creating positive outcomes and supporting our clients, and showing up for our communities like never before. Ultimately, we couldn’t be portrayed as the “Best” or the “Coolest” without the people that make up TrueNorth Companies – this is a regional award, but we’re grateful for a strong culture and talented individuals across all of our locations!
Best Business Insurance
We are proud to share that the CBJ has also awarded TrueNorth as Best Business Insurance. President and CEO Jason Smith says one needs only to look to the company’s mission statement – “To assist companies and people with protecting and maximizing assets, resources and opportunities” – to understand why TrueNorth Companies sits atop the Best Business Insurance for the seventh time in 2020. TrueNorth has made a name for itself supporting people and companies by protecting assets, allowing them to then “dream a little bigger.”
