Charitable Giving: The Catherine McAuley Center

TrueNorth is proud to announce that our Charitable Cause for the month of May is the Catherine McAuley Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Founded by the Sisters of Mercy and led by the guiding values of empowerment, learning, mercy, community, and commitment, the Catherine McAuley Center strives to help "people embrace opportunities to better themselves, their families, and the community."  The Catherine McAuley Center is the only agency in the Cedar Rapids area to provide one-on-one tutoring for adult learners and a transitional housing program specifically designed for women and their unique needs in overcoming poverty and homelessness.

TrueNorth Events this month will include:

  • The "Movin' for McAuley" Kickball Tournament took place last weekend in Noelridge Park (Saturday, May 2).  TrueNorth was named the highest fundraiser, bringing in a whopping $2,350!
  • An employee bake sale sponsored by the account managers in our Risk Management Division.
  • A Casual for a Cause day on May 27 where TrueNorth employees can elect to wear jeans in exchange for a $1 donation.
