Charitable Giving: Special Olympics

During the month of March, TrueNorth will be raising funds for Special Olympics Iowa. They are a statewide movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports. Their mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

According to their website, Special Olympics Iowa is a statewide movement that unleashes the human spirit through the transformative power and joy of sports. Using sports as the catalyst, and including programming on health and education, Special Olympics is fighting inactivity, injustice, and intolerance. As a result, people with intellectual disabilities become accepted and valued members of their communities, which lead to a more respectful and inclusive society for all.

How TrueNorth Plans to Help 

• We're channeling our inner-Irish with a building-wide bake sale. Thanks to select team members of TrueNorth Transportation for providing delicious green treats! 
• Ready for this? TrueNorth will host our very own office Olympics - complete with opening and closing ceremonies! The events will include a bag tournament, giant Jenga, Speed Finger-Skating (aka typing contests!) and an obstacle course. Stay tuned as we provide live coverage via Instagram and social media!
•  As always, you can count on seeing the TrueNorth team sporting denim on the last Wednesday in March, as the office will be collectively participating in our "Casual for a Cause" day to support Special Olympics Iowa.
