With $3.8 billion* tied to agricultural losses, Iowa’s derecho storm system forced farmers to rebuild in the midst of a hardened insurance market. Seeing farming cooperatives struggle to rebuild, our agribusiness team took time to listen and implement a solution no other broker was offering farming cooperatives.
In September of 2023, TrueNorth was proud to form TrueAG℠, a captive solution that offers agriculture cooperatives:
- Ownership and transparency around their cost of insurance
- More underwriting control
- Stability when it comes to risk financing
- Underwriting and investment profit opportunities
Did You Know
The TrueAG captive is an innovative outcome of a year-long study that began in the Spring of 2022 and finished in May of 2023. The captive, strictly owned by farming cooperatives, was formed in September 2023 and officially established on January 1, 2024.
