Charitable Giving: Cedar Rapids Police Protective

During the month of July, TrueNorth will be raising funds for Cedar Rapids Police Protective Charity. They provide financial assistance and coordinate events that directly affect youth in the Cedar Rapids community.

ABOUT THE POLICE PROTECTIVE 

The Cedar Rapids Police Protective Charity is a non-profit charity operating exclusively for purposes that provide for those in need and supporting events directly affecting the youth in our community by partnering with Cedar Rapids Police Officers and community programs. Each year they participate in annual events by providing children in need with school supplies and winter clothing during the holidays. During these events, children can partner with a Cedar Rapids Police Officer to ensure these children have the items and opportunity to be successful in school and life.

Each police officer is committed to maintaining and enhancing the confidence and trust of the people that the department serves by strengthening neighborhood relationships and maximizing community participation in identifying problems, developing solutions, and establishing relevant department priorities and policies. Officers are empowered to resolve problems as they serve to protect life and property.

How TrueNorth Plans to Help

• TrueNorth's TrueChoices team is hosting an internal grill-out, complete with hot dogs, burgers and all the fixings for all their fellow team members! Our colleagues can help themselves after making a small donation to the Police Protective.
• We will begin collection efforts with a TrueNorth school supply drive starting on July 10. Feel free to stop by our headquarters in Cedar Rapids if you would like to donate to the cause!
• Cedar Rapids Police officers will be presenting a dog demonstration on July 24 in the TrueNorth parking lot. This demonstration is open to the public. More details to come via social media!
• As always, you can count on seeing the TrueNorth team sporting denim on the last Wednesday in July, as the office will be collectively participating in our “Casual for a Cause” day to support the Cedar Rapids Police Protective.
