Charitable Giving: Central Iowa Shelters

During the month of May, TrueNorth will be raising funds for the Central Iowa Shelter & Services (CISS) as well as YSS.
Central Iowa Shelter & Services in downtown Des Moines, Iowa strives to provide low-barrier shelter, meals and support services at no cost to adults experiencing homelessness and to facilitate their move toward self-sufficiency. They also provide services such as case management, health and wellness programming, and educational opportunities for daily use.
YSS in Ames gives children, teens and young adults the opportunity to find their voice, make healthy choices, feel safe and secure, learn life skills, heal with compassion, grow their confidence and, ultimately – stand strong. Their mission is to create hope and opportunity by putting kids first.
HOW TRUENORTH PLANS TO HELP
- TrueNorth will start our fundraising efforts by hosting a building-wide bake sale during the second week of May, hosted by our Shared Services team. We will even host an ice cream and root beer float bar to help raise funds!
- On the last day of May, TrueNorth will host a bags tournament for employees in our Cedar Rapids office. Tune into our social channels to see who will be crowned the 2019 "Bags Champion"!
- As always, you can count on seeing the TrueNorth team sporting denim the last Wednesday in May, as the office will be partaking in our "Casual for a Cause" day to help support these facilities in Central Iowa.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
