During the months of November and December, TrueNorth is proud to sponsor Families Helping Families. We have some exciting things in store for the month and it all benefits this great organization. We invite you to follow along as we share our efforts with you!
About Families Helping Families
According to their website, Families Helping Families is a grassroots organization with humble beginnings. The non-profit was founded in 2005 with $100 and a vision. The vision was and is to raise awareness and provide access to basic need items and resources for children in foster care throughout the state of Iowa. In 2006, Families Helping Families was able to secure 501(c)3 nonprofit status and incorporation.

How TrueNorth Plans to Help
November:
- TrueNorth will start our fundraising efforts by hosting a building-wide bake sale during the second week of November, hosted by TrueNorth's core service corporation.
- Our Casual for a Cause Committee will also be sponsoring a "Giving Tree" at our headquarters that will be decorated with present requests for children in need. TrueNorth staff are encouraged to take an ornament off the tree and spread some holiday cheer with families less fortunate.
- In the Thanksgiving spirit, we'll be hosting a turkey shoot! In exchange for a donation to Families Helping Families, TrueNorth staff can test their luck aiming at paper cut-out turkey targets in the Compass Cafe. Prizes will be awarded to the those with the best scores!
- As always, you can count on seeing the TrueNorth team sporting denim the last Wednesday in November, as the office will be partaking in our "Casual for a Cause" day to help support Families Helping Families.
