According to the Women In Trucking Association, women make up nearly 14% of professional drivers and nearly 34% of C-suite executives in the transportation industry. In honor of International Women's Day on March 8, we're spotlighting some of the women on TrueNorth's Transportation team! These women serve in positions across the division – from technology, to client service, to account management and more.  

We are proud to be a corporate member of the Women In Trucking Association, a nonprofit that encourages and supports women in the trucking industry.

Audrey Schuetzman, Account Executive

What do you enjoy about working on the Transportation team?
It’s a large group of some of the most talented people in the industry. The level of teamwork exhibited is incredible. When client needs are truly the whole teams’ #1 goal, everything else falls into place easily.

What does it mean to you to create value for our clients?
Seeing the trust our clients have in us is very fulfilling. Whether it’s a marketing strategy, risk solutions engagement or help with claims prevention, our clients really understand and embrace our plans of action. They appreciate the hard work our teams put in and know, without a doubt, we have their best interests in mind. They know that we aren’t just their broker, we are their partners.

Lakesha Green, Service Manager

What do you like about your role?
In my role, I interact with drivers and motor carriers, and over time I get to build relationships with them. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new. I enjoy going above and beyond for our clients to give them the best experience possible. 

What is one thing that may surprise people that don’t work in the transportation industry?
This industry is incredibly fast paced. It takes a lot of work to understand the ins and outs of transportation, but once you do, you can move quickly. 

Molly Koberna, Business Systems Analyst

What's your favorite part of your role?
I love seeing how we make our clients lives easier and their processes more efficient through technology solutions, like our TNTruck app. Seeing the work our team does to improve processes like getting quoted, applying for insurance and accessing policy documents is very rewarding!

What is one thing that may surprise people that don’t work in the transportation industry?
It’s very complex! I learn something new every day.

What does it mean to you to be in a leadership position on TrueNorth’s Transportation team?
A leader to me at TrueNorth means being able to guide my team members to give our clients the very best customer experience, while also working on growth internally in their personal and professional lives. Transportation is a fast-moving industry. As a leader, it is part of my job to keep my team up to date on factors that impact our clients, and sometimes that happens very quickly.

What does it mean to you to create value for our clients?
It’s an honor to know that my work and my teams’ work help our clients’ companies grow. We speak to some clients on a very regular basis, so we get to learn a lot about their business. It’s so rewarding to build relationships with our clients and being able to provide unique value to help them reach their business goals.

What does it mean to you to be in a leadership position on TrueNorth’s Transportation team?
Everyone relies on the transportation industry, and TrueNorth leads the way in serving the industry. I’m not sure there’s a better compliment than being a leader on TrueNorth’s transportation team. The quality of colleagues and leaders at TrueNorth raises the bar for leadership in and of itself.

What do you like about your role and working in transportation?
The challenge - each day is something new, and the feeling that comes from a clients’ appreciation is unmatched. Providing access to insurance markets and services our clients need to help keep their business compliant and profitable is very fulfilling.
