TrueNorth Legacy Foundation Gives $536,000 in Grants
(Cedar Rapids, Iowa) - The TrueNorth Legacy Foundation, a private foundation (501c3) established in 2021 by TrueNorth Companies L.C., is proud to have completed its third annual grant cycle and announce the distribution of $536,000 to community causes in 2025.
“We’re fortunate to be surrounded by communities that inspire and uplift,” said Matt Evans, President of the TrueNorth Legacy Foundation Board of Directors. “Completing our third annual grant cycle with the TrueNorth Legacy Foundation is a milestone that fills me with pride. It reflects the growing momentum behind our mission to invest in organizations that are transforming lives and strengthening communities.”
Grant recipients were chosen based on three key criteria: 1) Demonstrated need and future vision of a transformational gift; 2) Alignment with the Legacy Foundation’s core pillars of Children & Education, Vibrant Communities, Emergency Response & Preparedness; 3) Championed from within the TrueNorth Companies and First Mainstreet, Inc. colleague base.
Thanks to the generosity of our stakeholders and colleagues, the TrueNorth Legacy Foundation has proudly chosen to support the following community initiatives:

- Central City PTO, Central City Elementary School Inclusive Playground Project

- Discovery Living, Inc., Whole-House Generator Funding
- Folds of Honor Iowa, The Folds of Honor Iowa Operating Expenses Campaign
- Horizons, A Family Service Alliance, Our Place: A Center for Older Adults
